Visit the Most Blessed Tree and Other Historic Sites in Jordan how?

This post addresses one of the most common questions we receive the most often: how do I go to The Blessed Tree? For more information on the significance of the historical background of the Tree take a look at "The Blessed Tree: A Divine Realism' first.

One of the most effective and most efficient methods to go to The Blessed Tree is by making an excursion of a day out of it, because there are many other historical sites which can be visited along the route. The tree is about two hours drive far from Amman (approximately 150 miles) It is also easy to get there. The most difficult part is leaving Amman!

from Amman up to Sahab
From the 4th Circle, go south , crossing the bridge and continue to Abdoun and continue on the highway to Hayy al Yasmeen, following the directions for and the Jumruk (Customs) and passing by the TV and Radio Corporation on the route. From there, drive toward Sahab.

The Tree from Sahab through the Tree

Take a break from Amman and head to the city that lies nearby, Sahab. You can then take your first stop in the history of the city and explore Sahab's Cave of the Sleepers. This is one of the places that is believed as the place which the sleepers took refuge, and where they were secured by God (the account can be found in the Surah al-Kahf).

Continue on for another 100km until you reach the town of Azraq. On the way, there are numerous Umayyad palaces that can be explored one among them can be found in Qusayr Amra, previously a hunting lodge utilized by the Caliphs during the time. The other nearby palaces and historic sites are accessible on the map linked below.

When you arrive you arrive in Azraq you can proceed north on the road to Safawi (should be an left turn) and follow the road for around 30km. You will come across an exit on the right side that will lead passengers to the Tree located about 14km away. This is a new road (which I haven't experienced myself) and the one before that was an older Roman road, was the most bumpy ride of 14km! The entry point for the old road was marked towards al-Buqayawiyya however this might not be the case anymore.

In just 14km, you'll (hopefully) arrive at the Tree! With nothing else around it, it's fairly easy to find. It is enclosed by a metal fence that has an entrance gate that should be locked.
